چکیده
Abstract Background Patellar instability (PI) often increases the possibility of lateral patellar dislocation and early osteoarthritis. The molecular mechanism articular cartilage degeneration during patellofemoral osteoarthritis (PFOA) still requires further investigation. However, it is known that NF-κB signaling pathway plays an important role in degeneration. aim this study was to investigate relationship between joint Methods We established a rat model PI-induced PFOA. Female 4-week-old Sprague-Dawley rats ( n = 120) were randomly divided into two groups: PI 60) control group 60). distal femurs isolated compared 4, 8, 12 weeks after surgery. morphological structure trochlear subchondral bone evaluated by micro-computed tomography histology. expression NF-κB, matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-13, collagen X, TNF-ɑ immunohistochemistry quantitative polymerase chain reaction. Results In group, loss found 4 Compared with protein mRNA significantly increased surgery group. addition, markers MMP-13 X more highly expressed at different time points Conclusions This has demonstrated can be caused growing rats, accompanied significant may associated activation deteriorate as result PI.

P133: Targeting NF-Κb Signaling Pathway as Potential Therapeutic with Curcumin in Treatment of Multiple Sclerosis
Curcumin is active component of turmeric and isolated from the rhizome of turmeric, a phenolic natural product. One of inflammatory disease is multiple sclerosis, a multifocal chronic autoimmune inflammatory disease of the CNS, which is also known as a perivascular demyelinating disease. Studies have been shown that neuro-inflammation can have both harmful and beneficial effects on the neuronal...
متن کاملEarly NF-κB activation is associated with hormone-induced pancreatitis.
Inflammation and cell death are critical to pathogenesis of acute pancreatitis. Here we show that transcription factor nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB), which regulates these processes, is activated and plays a role in rat cerulein pancreatitis. NF-κB was strongly activated in the pancreas within 30 min of cerulein infusion; a second phase of NF-κB activation was prominent at 3-6 h. This biphasic kine...
متن کاملDimethyl itaconate protects against lipopolysaccharide-induced endometritis by inhibition of TLR4/NF-κB and activation of Nrf2/HO-1 signaling pathway in mice
Objective(s): Endometritis is the inflammation of the uterine lining that is associated with infertility. It affects milk production and reproductive performance and leads to huge economic losses in dairy cows. Dimethyl itaconate (DI), a promising chemical agent, has recently been proved to have multiple health-promoting effects. However, the effects of DI on endometri...
متن کاملIncreased expression of bFGF is associated with carotid atherosclerotic plaques instability engaging the NF-κB pathway
Unstable atherosclerotic plaques of the carotid arteries are at great risk for the development of ischemic cerebrovascular events. The degradation of the extracellular matrix by matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and NO-induced apoptosis of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) contribute to the vulnerability of the atherosclerotic plaques. Basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) through its mitogen...
متن کاملGhrelin protects against nucleus pulposus degeneration through inhibition of NF-κB signaling pathway and activation of Akt signaling pathway
The objective of the present study was to examine the potential role of ghrelin in degeneration of nucleus pulposus (NP). Lower expression levels of ghrelin were found in human NP cells stimulated with interleukin-1β (IL-1β). Moreover, exogenous ghrelin suppressed IL-1β induced degeneration and inflammation associated biomarkers in human NP cells, including matrix metalloproteinase-13, a disint...
